Additional Information
The New Mexico BDR+ runs from the southern border of the state to the north, tracing a remote line through some of New Mexico’s most varied and demanding terrain. The route moves from open desert and lava fields into pine forests and high mountain passes, combining long dirt stretches, forest roads, two-track, and rough backcountry links. Each day delivers significant mileage and constantly shifting scenery, from wide plains and mesas to historic mining regions and high elevations where weather and light can change the character of the ride.
This is a fully self-contained backcountry journey with a different campsite each night, camping directly off our bikes in remote locations along the route. Designed for riders who value commitment and exploration, the experience blends long days in the saddle with simple, mobile camp life. Optional side trips lead to scenic locals, small towns, pueblos, and lesser-known corners of the state, adding depth and flexibility beyond the main line.
